Pathway to Purpose Counseling Internship Program
The Healing Palace's Internship program is designed for graduate-level students in select locations who are pursuing careers in social work, counseling, and mental health. Our year long program allow Interns gain hands-on experience in trauma-informed care, community engagement, and culturally responsive therapeutic practices. Under the supervision of licensed clinicians, our interns are empowered to grow professionally while making a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals, youth, and families. Join a team dedicated to healing, advocacy, and transformative care.
An Internship with Students in Mind!
At The Healing Palace, we believe in cultivating the next generation of culturally responsive, trauma-informed mental health professionals. Our internship program was created with intention—to provide emerging clinicians with meaningful opportunities to grow, learn, and lead within real-world therapeutic environments while advancing our mission to support the healing journeys of underserved communities.
Our internship program was born out of a deep need we observed in the mental health field: a lack of training spaces where students could gain clinical experience while being immersed in the realities of serving historically marginalized populations, with emphasis on trauma survivors. We recognized that many graduate-level programs offer theoretical knowledge, but few provide immersive, community-based learning that emphasizes racial equity, intergenerational trauma, and the nuances of culturally competent care.
Additionally, The Healing Palace has always been committed to investing in the future of the field. By mentoring interns, we not only expand the capacity of our services, but we also empower rising professionals—especially those of color—to become confident, compassionate clinicians equipped to disrupt cycles of trauma and inequity in their own communities.
Program Structure and Opportunities
Our internship program is designed for Master’s-level students in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or psychology. Interns are provided with comprehensive, supervised clinical training in a variety of therapeutic settings, including:

Individual and family therapy

-
Intake assessments and treatment planning
-
Community-based and school-based services
-
Case management and interagency collaboration
Interns receive weekly clinical supervision from experienced, licensed professionals and are welcomed into a supportive, team-based culture that values collaboration, self-care, and continued learning. In addition to supervision, interns attend case consultations, professional development workshops, and cuturally repsonsive trainings tailored to real-life challenges therapists face in the field.
